A standoff with an armed woman inside the FBI Seattle building Wednesday afternoon has ended, authorities say.

SEATTLE - A standoff with an armed woman inside the FBI Seattle building Wednesday afternoon has ended, authorities say.

The FBI Seattle said at 3:14 p.m. an armed woman barricaded herself in the lobby of the building. Local law enforcement responded and communicated with the woman for an hour.

The woman was taken into custody at 4:12 p.m. Nobody was hurt.

"We are grateful to the Seattle Police Department, King County Sheriff’s Office, Federal Protective Service, and other law enforcement partners for their commitment to protecting our community," said Richard A. Collodi, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Seattle Field Office.

Spring Street at 3rd Avenue in downtown Seattle was closed for more than an hour. Authorities had urged the public to avoid the area as the investigation unfolded.

Authorities said no further information would be released.
