82-year-old woman struck by car, killed in Monroe
MONROE, Wash. - Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened along State Route 2 in Monroe Monday morning.
According to the Monroe Police Department (MPD), westbound SR-2 has reopened to traffic. The roadway was closed moving north and south on N Kelsey St. for several hours.
Monroe Police say multiple officers responded to a crash at the intersection of North Kelsey Street and SR 2 just before 7 a.m.
Police said an 82-year-old woman from Monroe was struck as she was crossing US 2 northbound. The driver is fully cooperating with the investigation.
The identity of the woman who was killed will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office at a later time.
