Homicide victim found dumped in the Duwamish River identified

Des Moines PD, King County Sheriff's investigating apparent homicide

Des Moines PD told FOX 13 that there appears to be at least two crime scenes, with one in Skyway and another in Des Moines.

DES MOINES, Wash. - Des Moines police have arrested a suspect wanted in connection to a homicide after a body was found dumped in the Duwamish River in Skyway on Monday.

On Monday, police told FOX 13 that there were two crime scenes: one at the Duwamish River where the body was found, and one at an apartment complex in Des Moines where the crime was believed to have taken place.

Detectives executed a search warrant on an apartment at the Des Moines Station Apartments and found "evidence of a homicide."

The suspect was arrested at an apartment complex in Kent and taken into custody.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 26-year-old David Aguayo. His cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and multiple stab wounds.

Police have not specified if the victim and suspect knew each other.
