I-5 closure in Everett for road-rage shooting investigation

Southbound I-5 fully closed in Everett due to police investigation

All lanes of southbound I-5 in Everett were closed for a police investigation Wednesday afternoon.

EVERETT, Wash. - Police are asking for information about a road-rage shooting that prompted the closure of all lanes of southbound I-5 Wednesday in Everett.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) first posted on X about the closure just after noon. The post said all lanes of I-5 south were blocked at Marine View Drive.

WSP Trooper Kelsey Harding later said that detectives were seeking information about a road-rage shooting that happened at 10:37 a.m.

Harding said someone in a 2010 red Chevrolet Camaro with a tinted real license plate cover fired multiple shots into the tire of a 2004 Lexas SUV.
