Shooting in Seattle's Rainier Valley leaves two injured; police investigating

Police are investigating a shooting that injured two men in Seattle's Rainier Valley neighborhood on Monday.

According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), at around 1:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire near the corner of Rainier Ave. S and S Kenyon St.

When police arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers treated the victims at the scene until medics arrived to take them to Harborview Medical Center. One man was listed in serious but stable condition, the other was listed in critical condition.

According to the SPD, officers secured the area and processed the scene. Detectives assigned to the SPD's Gun Violence Reduction Unit will lead the investigation. 

Details about what led up to the shooting are limited. No suspects have been taken into custody.
