Car fire in Marysville causes 13-mile backup on northbound I-5

A car fire on northbound I-5 in Marysville caused multiple lane closures and a 13-mile backup on Monday.

All lanes near NE 116th Street reopened around 7 p.m. after first responders cleared the burned car from the roadway.

The car fire broke out around 5 p.m. near the Seattle Premium Outlets mall.

The fire caused a 13-mile backup as firefighters blocked multiple lanes to extinguish it. Drivers should expect delays.

It's currently unknown if anyone was injured in this incident.
